UX (User Experience) refers to the entire experience a person has when interacting with an app or website – from the first impression to the final click. Thoughtful UX design goes far beyond visuals, focusing on how easy, logical, and efficient it is for the user to achieve their goal.

It might involve quickly finding the right information, completing a purchase without friction, or understanding how a service works. By putting the user’s needs, behaviors, and expectations at the center, UX design creates an experience that feels smooth, intuitive, and satisfying.

Well-designed UX ensures that users can smoothly navigate, understand, and interact with a service or product—without obstacles or frustration. A thoughtful and user-centered experience leads to higher customer satisfaction, improved conversion rates, and stronger brand loyalty over time.

UX design is a strategic, user-centered process that includes several key steps to ensure a digital solution is both functional and user-friendly. The exact approach varies depending on the site’s goals and what actions you want users to take.

Here are some core components:

User Journeys
By mapping how users interact with the product—from first contact to final action—you can identify pain points, needs, and areas for improvement. This is often analyzed using tools like heatmaps and click tracking to see how users navigate the page.

Behavior Analysis
Data is used to gain deeper insights into user needs, motivations, and expectations. This forms the basis for informed design decisions.

Prototyping
Interactive prototypes are created to quickly test ideas, review user flows, and evaluate functionality before full-scale development.

Wireframing
A wireframe is a low-fidelity sketch of the interface that clarifies structure, layout, and content—without the distraction of visual details.

User Testing
Design solutions are tested with real users to gather feedback, identify areas for improvement, and ensure the product works as intended in real-world scenarios.

UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface) are closely related but distinctly different disciplines within digital design—both play vital roles in creating user-friendly, engaging, and effective digital experiences.

UX – Crafting the Overall Experience

User Experience (UX) focuses on the complete journey a user has when interacting with a digital product or service. It’s not just about functionality, but about how it feels to use the product—is it logical, easy, meaningful, and satisfying?

UX design is a strategic process that involves:

  • User research and interviews to deeply understand the target audience

  • User journey mapping to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement

  • Flow design and wireframes to define how information is structured and how users move through the service

  • Prototypes and usability testing to ensure the solution is intuitive before implementation

The goal of UX is to optimize every step of the user’s interaction, making it as smooth and enjoyable as possible—ultimately improving satisfaction, loyalty, and conversions.

UI – The Visual and Interactive Interface

User Interface (UI) focuses on the look and feel of the interface. It’s the UI designer’s job to take the structures and flows created by the UX designer and translate them into a visually appealing and functional design.

UI design includes:

  • Color palettes, typography, icons, and graphics that reflect the brand identity

  • Designing buttons, menus, forms, and other interactive elements

  • Visual hierarchy to help users quickly understand where to look and what to do

  • Responsive design that looks and works well on all devices and screen sizes

UI is the layer that users see and interact with—it creates the first impression, builds trust, and conveys professionalism and quality.

In short:

  • UX is about how it works

  • UI is about how it looks and feels

Together, they create digital experiences that are not only beautiful but also functional and enjoyable to use.

You should always start with UX (User Experience) before moving on to UI (User Interface).

UX is about understanding user needs, defining goals, and creating a logical structure for how a product or service should work. By focusing on UX early in the process, you ensure that the solution actually addresses the right problems in a user-friendly way—regardless of how it looks.

The UX process typically includes:

  • User research

  • Target audience analysis

  • Flowcharts and wireframes

  • Prototypes and user testing

Once these elements are in place, you have a solid foundation for building the UI. That makes it easier to create a visual interface that’s not only attractive but also supports the user journey effectively.

We use heatmaps and scroll depth tracking to analyze user behavior, run A/B tests, and collect user feedback to continuously improve the design and ensure it meets users’ needs.

Feedback is the system’s response to a user’s action—for example, a confirmation message after submitting a form.
Feedforward provides guidance before an action is taken—such as a button changing color on hover to indicate it’s clickable.

Our process

01. Analyse the customer's needs

A webpage is every company’s most important sales person. How it looks and how user-friendly it is has to be prioritised to not miss out on potential customers.

The first step is therefore always to analyze the customer’s needs and wishes regarding the new website.

This includes understanding their brand and target audience, their current online presence, and what has previously worked and not worked for them.

We always strive for an open dialogue with the client to gain a clear picture of what they want and what they aim to achieve.

This includes understanding their brand and target audience, their current online presence, and what has previously worked and not worked for them.

02. Create beautiful and converting websites

Once we understand the customer’s needs and goals, it’s time to design the website. We take into account the customer’s wishes, brand, and target audience, and combine this with our experience in creating visually appealing and high-converting websites.

An important aspect is also responsive design, which means the website should function smoothly on all devices, including mobile phones and tablets.

03. Time to develop the page

After the design is finalized, it’s time to start developing the website. During the development phase, we use a variety of platforms and tools, such as WordPress, Umbraco, and Shopify.

It is important to have a thorough understanding of the chosen tools and to stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in web development. This ensures that the website is fast, stable, and secure.
It is also crucial to optimize the website for search engines to ensure it can be found and indexed, helping it reach potential customers.

04. Keep the page up to date and secure

Once the website is completed, we continue working together with the client to ensure that the site remains updated and secure from external threats.
